Frequently asked questions
How much meat should I put in the Burger Maker?
We recommend using 4–6 oz (113–170 g) of ground meat per patty. Use 4 oz for a classic burger or 6 oz for a thicker, juicier burger. Adjust the amount to your preferred thickness.
What's the best meat for homemade burgers?
For juicy, flavorful burgers, we recommend 80/20 ground beef (80% lean meat, 20% fat). The fat helps keep your burgers tender and juicy while cooking.
How long should I cook my homemade burgers?
Cooking time depends on how you like your burgers!
Medium-Rare: 3–4 minutes per side (6–8 minutes total).
Medium (M): 4–5 minutes per side (8–10 minutes total).
Medium-Well (MW): 5–6 minutes per side (10–12 minutes total).
Well-Done: 6–7 minutes per side (12–14 minutes total).
Tip: Cooking times may vary depending on patty thickness and heat.
Food Safety: The USDA recommends cooking ground beef burgers to an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C). Medium-rare, medium, and medium-well burgers may not reach this safe temperature.
Before Cooking?
Season both sides of your burger patties with salt and pepper just before cooking for the best flavor.
Can I prepare and freeze burger patties for the week?
Absolutely! You can prepare several burger patties ahead of time and freeze them for easy meals during the week.
We recommend placing parchment paper between each patty to prevent them from sticking together. Then stack them and store them in a freezer-safe bag.
When you're ready to cook, simply take out the number of patties you need, thaw them in the refrigerator, and cook as usual.
